Minsk National Airport (Belarusian: Нацыянальны аэрапорт Мінск), previously known as Minsk-2, is the main international airport in Belarus. The airport is located approximately 26 miles/42 km east of the capital Minsk. The nearest alternative international airport is Vilnius Airport (VNO) located 124 miles/200 km from Minsk Airport. The capital city of Belarus is Minsk.
This international airport is the only major airport in Belarus. It was renovated in 2014 and is mostly used by the national state-owned airline Belavia. In 2019, the airport handled 5,100,000 passengers.
Minsk National Airport carries the international airport code of MSQ (IATA) and UMMS (ICAO). The airport sits in an elevated location at 669 feet/204 meters above sea level at 53°52′57″ N and 28°01′57″ E.

All travelers can easily get to and from Minsk National Airport by road. Travelers will find two highways (M2 and M4) between the city and the airport. If you are in central Minsk, simply take Praspyekt Nyezalyezhnastsi northeast, merging onto the M2 highway. Then continue along the M2 until you reach the airport. The travel time from the capital to the airport is approximately 40 minutes. Upon arrival at the airport, travelers will find a broad selection of car parking options to choose from, as Minsk Airport offers both long and short-stay parking in two guarded car parks, located just outside the terminal. Designated disabled parking is available opposite the terminal entrance.
Terminal Information
Minsk National Airport operates two runways, which is 11,942 feet / 3,641 meters long and 12,139 feet / 3,700 meters long respectively. The airport serves one terminal with four floors. Level 1 is the arrivals area, including a VIP section. Level 2 is the transfer section, level 3 is for departures, and level 4 is for transit. The terminal at Minsk National Airport has a pass-through function of 7,5 million passengers per year.
MSQ Airport has 6 departures/arrivals sectors, and 13 gates (loading gates). Gate 1-9 are for international flights, and gates 10-13 are used for handling flights to the cities of the Russian Federation.

Transport to and from Minsk Airport
There are a number of local and international companies offering car rentals at Minsk Airport.
Passengers will find regular-route buses, including no. 300Э and 173Э. Bus no. 300 runs regularly between the airport and the city center. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. There are also shuttle buses available, including no. 1400-TK and no. 1430-TK. The shuttle buses run between Minsk and Minsk National Airport. The Minsk airport bus stop is opposite Gate 5-6.
There is no direct train connection from Minsk National Airport to the city center of Minsk. However, once passengers get to Minsk by bus, taxi, or car there are excellent railway connections to take you to your further destination.
In addition, taxis are available at the airport. Visitors will find the taxi stand directly in front of the Arrivals Hall of the terminal. A taxi trip from Minsk National Airport to the city center costs between 30 BYR to 40 BYR and takes about 40 minutes.
